Leagues: Former NBA player and Pelicans assistant Corey Brewer has been hired as an assistant coach at Arkansas State

Former NBA player and New Orleans Pelicans assistant coach Corey Brewer has been hired as an assistant coach at Arkansas State. The 40-year-old was among several Pelicans staff members not retained after the 2025/26 season ended in April, according to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68.

Brewer spent the past two seasons as a Pelicans assistant after four years in a player development role with the team. His new boss, Arkansas State head coach Ryan Pannone, previously coached the Pelicans' G League affiliate and served as an assistant in New Orleans during the 2022/23 campaign. Brewer played 13 seasons in the NBA before beginning his coaching career.

Sekou Doumbouya signs in Spain

Former Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers forward Sekou Doumbouya has signed with Spanish club San Pablo Burgos for the 2026/27 season. The team announced the move in a press release.

Doumbouya, still only 25, was the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He spent parts of three seasons in the NBA before playing the last three years in France, Spain, and Japan. San Pablo Burgos will compete in Spain's top domestic league, the Liga ACB, and in the EuroCup this coming season.

NBA TV reveals 60-game schedule

The NBA released the full broadcast schedule for NBA TV on Thursday. The network will televise 60 games during the upcoming season.

The schedule begins with a double-header on October 24 and concludes on April 4. The league announced the plan in a press release.

Babacar Sane sues NCAA over eligibility

Former G League Ignite forward Babacar Sane is suing the NCAA after being ruled ineligible to play for St. John's University in the 2026/27 season. Zach Braziller of The New York Post reported the story.

Sane, a Senegalese forward who turns 23 later this month, went undrafted in 2024. He later signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Utah Jazz. His lawyers argue that the modest bonus he received while playing for the NBAGL's Salt Lake City Stars "had no meaningful impact" on his career.

The lawsuit reportedly lists nearly 100 players with similar professional experience who have been cleared by the NCAA in recent years. That list includes Sane's former G League Ignite teammates London Johnson and Thierry Darlan.
