Jayson Tatum Praises Jaylen Brown After Celtics Trade
Jayson Tatum publicly addressed Jaylen Brown's trade for the first time, celebrating their shared success. Celtics president Brad Stevens discussed the team's offseason moves, while new additions Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley were also in the news.

The 28-year-old forward praised Brown during an interview on The Dan Patrick Show on Thursday.
Tatum was asked about the public's biggest misconception regarding his relationship with Brown. He noted the extensive speculation about their partnership but had only positive words. "For me, I love that guy," Tatum said. He highlighted their nine-year run together, which included five conference finals appearances, two NBA Finals trips, and one championship.
"Unfortunately, the business of basketball is always going to play a part," Tatum added. He stated it was a time to celebrate their accomplishments rather than be sad. Tatum called Brown a tremendous person and player, expressing respect and wishing him the best.
Brad Stevens on Team Decisions
Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens addressed several topics on SiriusXM NBA Radio's The Starting Lineup show on Friday. He discussed the decision to trade Jaylen Brown for Paul George and draft assets.
Stevens also provided an update on Jayson Tatum's health ahead of training camp. Stevens said, It sure looks like (he's healthy). He noted Tatum has been in the gym frequently, setting a great example and looking really good. Stevens shared his thoughts on the team's outlook entering the 2026/27 season.
Updates on New Additions
New Celtics center Mitchell Robinson missed his introductory press conference on Tuesday for personal reasons, which the team excused. Robinson clarified his absence in an Instagram video on Wednesday. He said his younger brother was hit by a car that morning.
Veteran guard Mike Conley, who also joined the Celtics, spoke at the press conference about his decision to sign with Boston. Leadership is one thing I know I can bring, and the urgency that even myself and Paul have to bring to this team as two guys that haven't had a chance to win a championship yet, Conley said. He aims to help reignite a championship drive within the team.
Conley's Expected Role
Analysts considered what Mike Conley can provide in his 20th NBA season. Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston gathered opinions from colleagues on the question. The most common response highlighted Conley's leadership as his primary contribution to the Celtics.
