Knicks Eye Tony Bradley Among Free Agent Options

The New York Knicks are considering free agent center Tony Bradley as they evaluate final roster spots for the 2026/27 season.

The New York Knicks are considering free agent center Tony Bradley as they evaluate final roster spots for the 2026/27 season

Veteran center Tony Bradley is a free agent option for the New York Knicks as training camp approaches. This news comes from a mailbag article by Ian Begley of SNY.tv.

Begley had previously linked the Knicks to free agents Drew Eubanks and John Konchar. The team is deciding how to fill its last standard roster spots. Barring a financial move, New York is expected to open the 2026/27 season with 14 players on standard contracts and three on two-way deals.

Bradley, the 28th overall pick in 2017, is an eight-year NBA veteran. He split the 2025/26 season between the Indiana Pacers and the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta sought him for depth after center Jock Landale suffered an ankle injury.

His performance last season is detailed below.

The Knicks' current center rotation features only Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond. Despite the limited depth, Begley reports the organization is very confident in that duo as they prepare to defend their NBA championship.

Miles McBride Extension Talks

The Knicks have been in regular contact with the agents for guard Miles McBride this offseason. However, Begley is skeptical a contract extension will be agreed upon. McBride has outperformed his current deal, and the team's payroll remains projected to be very high.

McBride, a 2021 second-round pick, posted career-best numbers last season. He averaged 12.0 points per game while shooting 41.3% from three-point range on 6.6 attempts per game. He appeared in 41 regular season contests, averaging 26.0 minutes.

Several teams would be interested in McBride if the Knicks made him available in a trade, though no such move has occurred. With McBride on an expiring contract, Begley suggests New York might eventually explore trading him to avoid losing him for nothing in free agency.

Josh Hart on Championship Mindset

Veteran wing Josh Hart says the Knicks are not content with just one title. The 31-year-old made the comments in a subscriber-only story by Adam Zagoria for NJ.com.

Hart also views the team as underdogs, even after a dominant playoff run. "I don't think we have a big target because I don't think anyone's picking us to win again," Hart told reporters on Wednesday at the U.S. Open.

Jalen Brunson's Future Evolution

Dexter Henry of The New York Post examined whether Finals MVP Jalen Brunson has reached his peak at age 30. In a video analysis, Henry considered how the star guard's game might continue to evolve in the coming years.
