The Golden State Warriors have formally added former NBA champion coach Frank Vogel to Steve Kerr's staff as Associate Head Coach. The team announced the move on Thursday as part of a broader series of front office hirings and promotions ahead of training camp in Hawaii.

Vogel replaces Terry Stotts in the associate head coach role, bringing decades of NBA experience to the Warriors' bench. His career includes head coaching tenures with four different franchises, most notably leading the Los Angeles Lakers, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, to the 2020 NBA championship. After a year as an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks, Vogel now joins a Warriors organization preparing for its 13th season under Kerr.

Player Development Staff Promotions

Beyond the high-profile Vogel hiring, the Warriors made several internal promotions focused on player development. Ben Stelzer's role has been expanded from Head Video Coordinator to Head Video Coordinator and Player Development Coach.

Everett Dayton has been elevated from Player Development Coach to Director of Player Development and Assistant Coach. Tyler Larsen is moving up from an assistant role with the G League's Santa Cruz Warriors to become a Player Development Coach with the NBA team.

The team also brought in three new faces for player development, hiring Adam Fravert, John Wade, and Nate Karren as Video Associates for Player Development.

Front Office and Operations Changes

Other promotions within the basketball operations department include Jason Staudt, who moves from Pro Scout to Director of Pro Personnel. Tatianna Lampley has been promoted from Specialist of Basketball Development to Specialist of Player Engagement.

On the team operations side, a key longtime figure received a significant promotion. Eric Housen, who is preparing for his 40th season with the franchise, has been elevated from Vice President of Team Operations to Senior Vice President of Team Operations. Bert Ortiz Jr., previously the Team Chef, will now step into Housen's former role as Vice President of Team Operations.

Training and Support Staff

The final announcement involved the team's support staff. Stephanie Weston has been hired as the Warriors' new Team Massage Therapist. She joins the organization after spending three seasons as the Assistant Massage Therapist for the Indiana Pacers.

The staff will immediately put these new roles into practice, with the team set to open training camp in Hawaii in just 12 days.
